Fifth Store in Three Months Closes at Galleria

CoolSprings-Galleria

The CoolSprings Galleria has seen a variety of store closings in the last few months. The latest – Art is in the Market. The art shop originally opened back in November of 2015.

A sign was posted stating, “On behalf of all of us, we wanted to thank you for all your support over the past several years! You have made a tremendous difference for local artisans.”

Art is in the Market CSGThe store was located on the lower level of the CoolSprings Galleria next to the Belk’s men’s store. They will continue to operate their location in The Mall at Green Hills.

The store describes themselves as “a permanent art show featuring only local Tennessee artists. Giving artists a path to the public without traveling to shows around the country, this venue was created to allow artists more time with their families while growing their business.”

We’ve reached out to CoolSprings Galleria management to comment on what will replace this store but have yet to receive a reply.

Other stores to recently close in the Galleria:
J. Crew
Native + Nomad
Teavana
The Art of Shaving

  1. I’m sure the bizarre playlist we heard on Sunday when we were at the mall — Barry Manilow, The Bee Gees and the Carpenters in succession — isn’t helping. The problem is not malls in theory; it’s the lack of recognition that the whole experience needs to be enjoyable. Who wants to step back in time with 70s slow-rock combined with obnoxious kiosk guys constantly in your face to “ask you one question” and big-box generic stores that offer nothing worth buying can’t be purchased online?
