FHS to Host Special Parent Night to Discuss Teen Drug Trends

teens and drugs

Are you concerned about your teen’s social peer group influence? Did you know parental attitudes toward alcohol/drug use have a significant impact on teen use?

Then join STARS Monday, January 23 for a special parent night at Franklin High School. The event will cover teen drug trends and what you can do as a parent to recognize those trends.

Questions that will be answered include:

  • What signs or symptoms should you look for?
  • What are the effects of alcohol and other drugs?
  • What can I do to help my teen?
  • How will I know if my teen needs help?
  • What help is available if my teen has a problem?
  • What are the most popular drugs used by teens?

The event will take place in the school library at 810 Hillsboro Road from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Franklin High STARS Specialist Regina Guess and Franklin High Counselor Leticia Varela will be on hand to assist non-English speakers in attendance.
