Father Ryan is going to Cordova on Friday to play Evangelical Christian.
After winning the Bishop’s Cup for the 9th time in 11 years last Friday against Pope John Paul II the Fighting Irish are back on track.
Taking the Fight to Cordova
Two weeks ago in its first Division II-AA East/Middle Region game of the season Father Ryan fell to McCallie. Irish faithful have to view the 41-7 loss as an exception to the rule. No. 8 in Tennessee McCallie is by a good margin the best team they played so far this year.
And next week, after Evangelical Christian, Father Ryan has to go on the road to undefeated Montgomery Bell Academy, certainly one of the best ten teams in Tennessee this year.
But this week, at least, all the Irish need to worry about is Evangelical Christian, a team still searching for its first win. In all likelihood it won’t find it against Father Ryan.
Zach Pfeifer is having a good year throwing the ball for the Fighting Irish. He is 37 for 58 for 507 yards, 7 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. He also leads the team in rushing, with 236 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns on 49 caries.
Ethan Jackson, with 14 catches for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns, leads Father Ryan in receiving.
