Father Ryan’s speech and debate team ended their season at the end of April at Cookeville High School in the State Tournament, with three students advancing to the finals.
Senior Joseph Kent finished first unanimously in Costume Design, Senior Erin Mahoney, a Williamson County resident, placed 6th in After-Dinner speaking and Junior Caroline Minchey placed 4th in the state in Solo Acting.
Father Ryan faculty member, Speech and Debate coach and Williamson County resident Sarah Kieffner praised the team’s performance. “This was a highly competitive State Tournament, and the performances of these three students reflect their talents and their commitment to the speech and debate program. I am proud of all of them.”
