Father Ryan’s annual Veterans Pride 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on Saturday, November 14. The Veterans Pride 5K is a certified course and is one of the flattest courses in Nashville. Many participants report their fastest time at the Veterans Pride 5K. This year the 1 Mile Fun Run will kick-off the festivities at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K will follow at 8:30.
All proceeds benefit tuition assistance and the event honors our military veterans. Registration fees are $15 for students, $25 for individuals and $60 per family. Race Day fees are $20 for students, $30 for individeuals and $70 for families. Packet pick-up will be Friday, November 13 from noon-5:30 p.m. or at 7:00 a.m. on race day. Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel may participate for FREE. Every pre-registered participant will receive a t-shirt and all runners will be eligible for awards in their age group.
If you are unable to run or walk in the 5K, consider honoring a veteran or active military in your life by purchasing an Honor Flag for $5 that will include his or her name (purchased through raceroster.com). Honor Flags will line a portion of the 5K course.The 5K course starts and finishes at Giacosa Stadium and winds through the shady, tree-lined streets in the surrounding Oak Hill neighborhood. Whether you are beginning a couch to 5K program or are a seasoned runner, this is a terrific 5K for you.
