Father Ryan Hosts 13th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast

Friday morning, November 10, Father Ryan High School hosted its 13th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast. The event was free, catered, and all Father Ryan alumni veterans or veterans of Father Ryan students/alumni were invited.

Over 150 people packed into the Father Ryan Dining Hall. The event featured a breakfast buffet, the singing of the National Anthem by the Father Ryan Singers and Col. John Krenson, a 1982 graduate of Father Ryan, as the featured speaker. He spoke about his faith, his military career, and his current role as CEO of Stand Down Tennessee. In addition to being an alumnus, Krenson is a current Father Ryan parent.

Dozens of veterans from a number of periods of American history were in attendance, including John Burns, a World War II Veteran and a 1944 graduate of Father Ryan. 91 years young, Burns was only 18 when he enlisted and fought in the Battle of the Bulge shortly after graduating from high school.
