Father Ryan Honors Alum & U.S. Open Champion at Home Opener

At their home opener tonight, Friday Aug 21, Father Ryan High School will hold a pregame salute to Lou Graham, a 1956 graduate of the school and the winner of the 1975 U.S. Open.

This school year marks his 60th high school reunion year and the 40th anniversary of his 1975 U.S. Open win. Lou will be named the team’s honorary captain for the game, and his wife Patsy will be joining him for the night’s game.

After graduating in 1956, Lou attended the Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis, where he played on the golf team. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for three years before turning pro on the PGA Tour in 1964. From there, Lou would go on to win six tour tournaments, including the US Open win in 1975.

The pregame festivities will begin Friday in the Jim Carell Alumni Athletic Complex at 6:45 p.m.
