SPC Jason K. Eden of Franklin died on Thursday, April 24th from wounds sustained defending his fellow soldiers in Afghanistan earlier that month. Eden was stationed out of Fort Bliss, Texas, but his roots were firmly planted in Williamson County. He graduated from Franklin High School in 2007 and joined the Army in 2009.

The family has asked that the community show support for all our troops and pay respects to Eden by lining the funeral procession route on Saturday from 11-Noon. The procession will go down Columbia avenue from Williamson Memorial Funeral Home to Main Street; then down Hillsboro Road to Sneed; continuing to Highway 100 and on to the final resting place at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 3-8 PM Friday and Saturday at 11 AM. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Eden of Elizabethton; his mother Janet Crane of Phoenix City, Alabama; and his father James Eden of Franklin.

Eden gave the ultimate sacrifice for his family, his community and his country. It’s a small thing to ask that we give his family and friends one hour this Saturday. Let’s show our respects and demonstrate the heart and spirit of Williamson County for Jason K. Eden.
