Fairview made big headlines last week after defeating Camden Central. The Yellow Jackets have had an impressive start to the season.

Cheatham County was swept off the field as the Yelllow Jackets took the win for their season opener. Losing to Cheatham County twice last year, Fairview kicked-off the season 1-0. Last week, the Yellow Jackets defeated Camden Central for the first time in six years. The 2-0 start has given Fairview the confidence they need to take on this weeks game against Stewart County.

The Rebels are also running on a 2-0 season this year, beating Clarksville North West and Houston County.

The District stand-off  against Stewart Co. will be a competetive match-up for Fairview this Friday.

Head coach of the Rebels, Cody Finley is no stranger to the Fairview program. Finley was head coach at Cheatham County for 11 seasons before going over to Stewart County this year. Cheatham County defeated the Yellow Jackets in the Class 3A Playoffs last season.

The Stewart County Rebels finished its season with an overall 3-7 record last year and lost to Finley’s Cheatham County 6-53. Starting off the season with two wins, the Rebels were able to defeat Houston County last Friday, after falling 14-28 last season.

The Rebels aren’t the only one’s making improvements this year. Fairview has not started off its season 2-0 since 2011.

The Yellow Jackets will travel over to Rebel country this Friday and kick-off at 7:30 p.m.
