Fairview and running back Darius James spoiled Greenbrier’s undefeated season with a 49-0 shellacking of the Bobcats on Friday evening.
James, who went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season, scored three first-half touchdowns.
Kam Harris-Lusk also added a pair of scores for Fairview (4-2).
Harris-Lusk had a 30-yard touchdown run to put the Yellowjackets up 35-0 early in the second half.
Later in the third quarter, Fairview’s Brendan Nardozzi forced a fumble, Tony Torres picked it up, and 27 yards later, the lead was 42.
Freshman Logan Nardozzi added his first career touchdown with six minutes to play.
James had a 56-yard run for the game’s first score, with Jeff Perez’s extra point putting the Yellowjackets up, 7-0.
James’s 14-yard run, followed by another Perez point-after, made the lead 14-0 at the start of the second quarter.
James scored a third touchdown in the first half on a 1-yard run.
Harris-Lusk added a 28-yard score, the Perez point-after giving the Yellowjackets a 28-0 lead just before half.
Fairview hosts Sycamore next week.
