The Fairview Yellow Jackets have swarmed the field to make it all the way to the Quarterfinals this Friday night. The yellow-and-black will head over to Christ Presbyterian Academy to face the undefeated Lions in a heated match-up.

Fairview has made dramatic advancements throughout the 2013 season. The Yellow Jackets finished off the 2012 season 8-4, and 2011 was the last time that Fairview finished out the regular season with one loss.

This game, the yellow-and-black will have every bit of their work cut out for them.

CPA scores an average of 38.7-points per game and only allows about 11.6 from its opponents. That means CPA scores an average of about three-times as much as the opposing team.

Fairview scores an average of 42.9-points and allows about 13.8 from the other team. Ironically enough, this is three-times as much as the opposing team, exactly like the Lions record.

The Yellow Jackets one loss hangs off of undefeated Lewis County (12-0). Lewis is also in the Quarterfinals against Westview (9-3). Whoever comes out on top this Friday night match-up, will take on the winner of that game.

Last Friday, Fairview took a big 41-20 win over Westmoreland (9-3) at home. Starting off a little sluggish, the Yellow Jackets soon buzzed up to the challenge. Nic Harvey and Dreshad Moore kept the first half going, putting up a 28-14 lead against the Eagles. Into the second, Hunter Zimmerman would sail one into Mike Jordan and Chase Myatt hit two FGA’s to seal the deal for another week.

Over the course of the year, the Yellow Jackets have only allowed its opponent to score more than 15-points in three out of 12 games. Half of those games, the other team did not see above 10-points on the scoreboard.

To take a big win over CPA, the Yellow Jackets will have to step up their game.

CPA fell to Milan in the Semifinals in 2011 and last season, and the Lions will be hungry for a win to make it past the Semifinals this year.

Fairview will be sharing a boat with CPA. The Yellow Jackets fell to Milan in the playoffs in 2010 and 2011. 2012 only brought Fairview to the second round of the play-offs. Making it to the Quarterfinals is a huge accomplishment for the yellow-and-black.

The Williamson Source will keep you updated on Fairview throughout the rest of the playoffs and don’t forget on Friday nights, we have our live scoreboard on our Football Central Homepage.
