Fairview is Strong and Steady Says Mayor Totty

A Chat with Fairview Mayor Beverly Totty

“The general state of the city of Fairview is Strong and Steady,” said Mayor Beverly Totty. Rising consumer confidence partnered with a rise in revenue projected for the 2014 budget leaves nothing but green lights for the future. Mayor Totty said the city may have many irons in the fire but that they continue to stay focused on the tasks at hand too.

The three most exciting happenings for the city right now are projects, events and traffic. Road expansion and streetscape beautification, greenway passages and a possible library expansion have everyone talking and working hard to make all the right moves. Events are always a highlight and this year’s July Fireworks Jubilee promises to be spectacular. Nature Fest is another don’t miss event and they always close the year with the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting.

The biggest concern for the city is infrastructure. With growth there are always growing pains and Fairview is no different than any other thriving city. “Traffic, infrastructure, schools and job growth diversity, isn’t that all city’s concerns,” said Totty. Maintaining quality of life while continuing to grow is the focus of Fairview today and for the future.
