Fairview High media students’ feature-length production, Minus One, is continuing to make history by being named an official selection of the 2019 Nashville Film Festival. This is a first for any high school in the district.
The Nashville Film Festival is one of only 17 festivals that qualify for Academy Award status. There will be 250 films shown from 50 different countries, and Fairview High students will have the opportunity to attend events with industry celebrities, leaders and distributors.
“For high school students to make a feature-length movie, and for one of the biggest film festivals anywhere to make it an official selection, is incredible,” said FVHS TV/Film teacher Bob King. “This brings national and international industry recognition to the accomplishment of WCS students.”
The festival runs October 3-12, and Minus One will be shown October 6 at 10 a.m. and October 9 at 12:30 p.m. Both shows will be at the Regal Cinema located in 100 Oaks Mall in Nashville.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Nashville Film Festival website. For non-pass holders, an adult ticket is $15, and a student ticket is $13.
