Fairview High School is approaching its last regular game of the season against Waverly Central (1-8, 0-7) for a district match-up rivalry. The Yellow Jackets are 8-1 overall and 6-1 within the district heading into the Friday night game.

After taking a 42-10 win over Page (4-5) and avenging a loss in the 2012 season, Fairview is approaching its final regular season contest. Dreshad Moore had over 100 yards and had two touchdowns just within the first quarter, and four all together to round up his playing time on the field. Hunter Myatt also ran in a touchdown himself the last quarter.

The Yellow Jackets have not taken on Waverly since 2005, where they took a 28-6 win at the end of their season. If they can pull a win Friday, the yellow-and-black will finish off their season 9-1 for the first time since 2011.
Fairview excelled against the Patriots and will have to bring that talent to the table once more before the play-offs.

Waverly’s one win over the season is attributed to Perry County (3-6) in its second game of the season. The eight-deep losing record for the Tigers puts them at 0-7 in the district. Waverly has not really seen much of a successful season since 2006, when they finished off 7-4. Since then, the team’s losses have not exceeded the number of wins in a season.

Fairview has been successful in brand-new District 11 this year. Coming in from District 12, the Yellow Jackets have finished off better in the regular season thus far, versus last year. Their only loss to Lewis County, the yellow-and-black had a bye the next week and re-cooped to take a big 47-6 win over Hickman County.

MaxPreps has Fairview ranked 50th in the state and 5th in the Class 3A standings. CPA and Lewis County stand against the Yellow Jackets in the upcoming play-offs, and they will have to keep the fire burning in order to make it to the championship game.
Last year, Fairview made it past the first round and on to the second game against Cheatham County to fall 21-36. The Yellow Jackets made it to the Quarterfinals against Milan in 2011, but fell shy by 18-points to the Bulldogs.

Fairview will kick-off at home against Waverly this Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Williamson Source will keep you updated on Fairview Friday night on our live Football Central Scoreboard and throughout the play-offs in the near future.
