The Yellow Jackets may have ended their season, but not without a fight.  Fairview fell 35-20 to undefeated CPA last night in the Quarterfinals over on the Lion territory.

It wasn’t until the end of the first quarter that CPA led off the night with a 25-yard run by Jay Hockaday to bring it 7-0.  The Lions would strike again leading off into the second with another Hockaday TD into the end zone with only 8:17 left in the first half.

The Lions didn’t stop there.  An explosive 87-yard touchdown pass into the end zone, but a missed PAT, would bring CPA up 20-0 with minutes to go in the half.

Fairview must have had a lot to think about in the locker room during halftime because the Yellow Jackets struck back with full force.

Dreshad Moore braced a 17-yard run to grace the end zone and gave Fairview its first points of the night, 20-7.  A little over a minute later, CPA answered right back with a Hockaday 20-yard TD.

Starting off the fourth, Chance Meier ran another in for CPA to finalize a 35-yard TD for the Lions with only eleven minutes left in the game.  Nic Harvey fought back with a 69-yard run into the end zone to bring the Yellow Jackets up 35-14.

You could see how bad Harvey wanted the win as he finalized the Yellow Jackets 20-points for the night with only seconds left in the game.   Garret Wall sailed a touchdown pass to #25 senior Mike Jordan, for Fairview’s final touchdown of the game.

Fairview ended its season 11-2 this year overall and 7-1 within the district.
