Historian and author Michael Birdwell has been fascinated with WWI since he was a kid, reading from his American Heritage Series volumes his parents bought him and even hearing stories from World War I veterans.

In this episode of our “World War I” mini-documentary, Birdwell talks about how World War I resulted in many cultural changes and the invention of everyday items.
