Facebook Group Rallies to Keep Looney at WCS

A group on Facebook called “Keep Dr. Looney” has been created to generate support for keeping Superintendent Mike Looney at Williamson County Schools.

Looney is currently being considered for the Director of Schools position at Metro Nashville Public Schools, and will have his interview with them tomorrow.

The group was created by Roger Abramson, a single father with two boys in Williamson County Schools who wants to keep Looney as the Superintendent of WCS.

The Facebook page was created earlier this week, and has already generated over 1,200 likes in support of keeping Looney in WCS.

Wow, thanks so much for the support so far. Please, please, please tell your friends and neighbors about it, especially those who have been on the sidelines for whatever reason. Numbers matter.

A post on the page makes it clear that it is not affiliated with the Williamson Strong group, but the same post also shares the Williamson Strong “ROAR” app that allows users to get in touch with school board officials to encourage them to keep Looney around.
