Explosion at Maury County Recycling Plant Injures Two People

An explosion at Smelter Service Corporation in Maury County has injured two people, reports WSMV.

Smelter Service Corporation is an aluminum recycling plant located in Mt. Pleasant.

“According to the EMA director for Maury County, rain water got into the recycling plant and came into contact with molten aluminum, which caused the blast. One victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition. The second victim had minor burns and refused to be taken to the hospital,” reports WSMV.

The plant is located at 400 Arrow Mines Road in Mt Pleasant.
