This exciting adaptation of “Blackbeard the Pirate” will take the audience on a family-friendly journey to meet some of the most colorful buccaneers of the seventeenth century. A Missoula show provides a venue for children to discover their stage presence and acting ability, and offers entry level roles for youth ages 5 to 18. Professional theatre staffers from Missoula Children’s Theater conduct auditions, rehearsals and performances all in one week. There are acting roles for students of all ages, kindergarten through 12th grade, and approximately 50 to 60 local children will be cast.

Auditions for “Blackbeard the Pirate” will be held at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, on Monday, September 10, 2012, beginning promptly at 4 p.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. Children wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour schedule. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. No advance preparation or resumes are needed, but there is a $20 activity fee for each actor cast in the production, with payment due the first day of rehearsal.

Check back later in the week for more information on the play!
