Watkins College
Sat, Jul 29 10:00 am

Personal essay is a form of creative nonfiction in which we examine our own lives and the ways they reflect the universal truths of the world around us. These short-form essays are found everywhere, from literary journals to blog posts. In this one-day workshop, we will examine short personal essays by contemporary writers and participants will have the opportunity to explore their own topics and ideas in guided writing sessions, working toward a finished draft. Instruction will include how to search your own life for essay topics, where and how to begin, and how to turn your life experiences into compelling stories. The workshop is open to all levels of writing experience.
