Clifton, Ensworth Get Back to Form on Friday

Ensworth’s Nicky Clifton ran for a pair of early touchdowns, and the Tigers held Trezevant to seven passing yards, as Ensworth rolled to a 42-6 home win on Friday.

Ensworth quarterback Cole Kennon was 9-of-13 passing for 263 yards and three scores, including a 63-yard scoring strike to Jude Maloy.

Clifton put the Tigers on the board first with a touchdown run, and Lucas Rodriguez’s extra point made the lead 7-0 with 9:28 left in the first quarter.

Clifton scored again with 5:47 left in the first quarter, a Rodriguez PAT making it 14-0.

Gabriel McDaniel added a rushing touchdown, and Cole Kennon hit Maloy for another score.

Josh Howard led Ensworth with seven tackles.

Ensworth (4-2) hosts Father Ryan next week.
