Jaylon King and Nicky Clifton each accounted for two touchdowns, as Ensworth routed Pope John Paul II by a 51-14 score on Friday night.
Both scored those touchdowns in the first half, as Ensworth built a 44-0 lead at the break.
Clifton ran five times for 77 yards, King had 51 yards receiving and 48 rushing, and quarterback Cole Kennon was 5-of-9 for 107 yards passing and a touchdown
The Tigers (7-2) had 466 yards to the Knights’ 227.
King’s 10-yard run was the game’s first score.
Ensworth’s James Seabury then hit Keshawn Lawrence with a scoring strike, the point-after making the lead 14-0.
An Ensworth safety recorded by Dante Wynn, then, a 38-yard Cliton scoring run, put the Tigers up 23-0.
Kennon’s throw to Gabriel McDonald, followed by King’s 65-yard punt return score, built the lead to 37-0.
By half, the Tigers led 44-0 after Clifton’s 5-yard scoring run with nine seconds left in the half.
Elijah Jenkins added a 17-yard touchdown run for Ensworth with 1:09 left.
Ensworth travels to undefeated Brentwood Academy next week.
