End of Summer Bash at The Village Church Today

end of summer bash

Many of you might know, that today kids from around Nashville, Franklin, and surrounding areas will be participating in the Nolensville Kids Triathlon which is hosted by BEAT, the Brentwood Endurance Athletic Team. The triathlon is a combination of three long distance activities: running, swimming, and biking. The distances are scaled back for the kids participating, but those ages 12-15 can look forward to a 150 yard swim, a 4.8 mile bike, and a 1.5 mile run. Good luck to those kids! The event also is partnered with the charities Harvest Hands and Gina’s Wish to which all profits will be going to Harvest Hands. Gina’s Wish will be granting a wish to a family with a terminally ill parent and their young children in memory and honor of Gina Sims.

The Village Church, in Nolensville, will host fun and games after the race starting at 9:30 and ending at 12 pm. This End of Summer Bash is not only to celebrate the kids, but to offer a last chance to get together as summer is ending and school is gearing up for the year.

Travis Garner, the lead pastor of The Village church, says “We’re excited to celebrate the start of a new school year and also to congratulate the participants in the Nolensville Kid’s Triathlon. We’ll have inflatable games, food, prizes, music, and more! Invite a friend to join us as we celebrate the end of summer and the start of a new school year!” The event is open to everyone who wishes to attend and will be held at the church’s normal service location of Sunset Middle School in the Nolensville/Lenox Village area.

For those at the race, if you’ve got kids participating in the Kids Tri, look for Travis as he refills coffee tumblers for all the adults cheering on our young ones! Learn more about The Village Church, visit thevillagenashville.com.
