Eagles stomp on Beech 49-7; set up epic matchup against Ravenwood

The Independence Eagles (4-0) continued Friday to showcase they are one of the top teams in Williamson County, this time going after Beech (2-2) 49-7.

Eagles quarterback Andrew Bunch made a pretty good case to be our Male Athlete of the Week, completing 14-of-23 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for two scores and 60 yards.

Receivers Seth Hunter, Nate Johnson and Dom Childress would connect with Bunch for touchdowns and the Eagles racked up more than 500 yards of offense. There was nothing that Beech could do, and they were down 28-0 at the half.

The victory sets up what is being projected as the Game of the Year: Independence on the road against the Ravenwood Raptors. Both teams are currently still undefeated, as the Raptors won 35-0 over LaVergne on their home turf.
