Saturday night, 03/14/2015, the Franklin Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Murfreesboro Road near Downtown. If you drink, plan on more than the luck of the Irish to get you home!

In addition to this checkpoint, Franklin Police are adding officers this weekend through St. Patrick’s Day night with the sole purpose of detecting and arresting impaired drivers. “Anyone who plans on drinking over St. Patrick’s Day weekend better not drive,” said Chief Deborah Faulkner. “If they do, they’ll spend the rest of their night with us.”

In 2014, the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office awarded the Department with a $50,000 grant to use for anti-DUI initiatives including DUI checkpoints, saturation patrols, training, equipment, and overtime for officers working this checkpoint.

While your out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day take a look at the Music City Irish Fest.

  1. Since the Brewfest is this Saturday, will the city have plenty of cabs available on Saturday night for safe travels home?

    • The Downtown Franklin Association has again worked this year with the trolley, 2 cab companies, and a transportation service to make sure that every opportunity is given for folks to have a safe ride home.
