Driver Jumps Curb and Hits 2 Families in Spring Hill

Police say a driver accused of jumping a curb and hitting two families outside a Spring Hill frozen yogurt shop Sunday night shouldn’t have been behind the wheel in the first place.

Jeffrey Poston, 54, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, DUI second offense, vehicular assault and driving on a suspended license. Additional charges are pending.

The accident occurred Sunday night just before 9 p.m., but the Spring Hill Police Department was back at Sweet CeCe’s on Tuesday morning to investigate.

Police told News 2 there were nine victims from two families involved, including four parents, a grandmother, and four children between the ages of 8 and 10.

One of the victims, 68-year-old Leticia Angarita was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries. Her daughter told News 2 she was released from the hospital Monday night.

Poston was booked into the Maury County jail, but made bond Monday Morning.

The rest of the victims’ names have yet to be released. More Local News
