A Dream Come True for Brentwood Resident

When asked what dream he would like to fulfill, Earl Briley responded saying he wanted to visit an old fashioned Soda Shoppe and enjoy a banana split. Briley, a resident at Elmcroft of Brentwood, is the latest participant in Elmcroft’s Second Wind Dreams® program that makes dreams come true for residents.

To fulfill his dream, Elmcroft and Briley’s family arranged a surprise visit to the Reeves-Sain Soda Shoppe so he could enjoy a banana split with his family and friends. Reeves-Sain is an innovative pharmacy located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee known for its old-fashioned charm reflected through the Soda Shoppe located in the Drug Store.

“We are delighted Elmcroft brought Mr. Briley to Reeves-Sain, and we hope he enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of the Soda Shoppe,” said Shane Reeves, co- owner of Reeves-Sain. “It is rare in today’s fast-paced world to find a place you can sit and enjoy a traditional milkshake or banana split while reminiscing about the days when life moved a little slower.”

Elmcroft of Brentwood, in partnership with the Second Wind Dreams® program, arranged for Briley to meet his son Terry Briley at Reeves-Sain on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. to enjoy a banana split.

Claudia Gonzalez, the healthy lifestyle director at Elmcroft of Brentwood and Tanya Kenner, resident assistant for Briley, joined him in enjoying the afternoon treat from the Reeves-Sain’s Soda Shoppe. Gonzalez later recounted that Briley leaned over to her and told her it was the best day of his life.

When asked how the banana split tasted, Briley said, “If it gets any better, I couldn’t stand it.”
