Dr. Charles Farmer Named Assistant Superintendent; Sarah Lamb named Summit High Principal

Summit High Principal Dr. Charles Farmer has been named Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools for Williamson County Schools. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement this week. He also announced that Summit High Assistant Principal Sarah Lamb has been promoted to Summit High Principal.

“I was looking for an Assistant Superintendent candidate who has an extensive knowledge of secondary education, one who is a proven leader and someone who is great communicator,” said Looney. “I found all of those qualities in Charles. I look forward to the future of our middle and high schools under his leadership.”

Farmer said the move is bittersweet for his family. “We have developed roots in the Spring Hill community over the last four years. The support of our families and community as we have opened Summit and grown exponentially has been overwhelming,” said Farmer.

“The chance to support my principal colleagues in a different capacity as we continue to lead Williamson County Schools to even greater heights is both exciting and humbling.  It is an opportunity my family and I felt that I couldn’t let pass.

I look forward to serving all the students and staffs of our middle schools and high schools. The prospects for continued academic achievement and growth are tremendous.  I look forward to this new challenge.”

Lamb has been with Summit since its opening. “When Summit opened in 2011, my family and I were so excited for me to be working in the community where I lived. In this short time, I have worked with an amazing staff, respectful students and supportive parents to help make Summit something from nothing,” said Lamb. “I look forward to continuing to build those relationships and add to our success to help make Summit a top-notch school in academics, athletics and the arts. I am truly honored to be given this opportunity and look forward to a great school year.”

Both will begin their new roles today.
