Downtown Franklin Home Decor Store to Relocate

Bagbey House and More

Bagbey House and More, located in downtown Franklin, announced it will close its current location at the end of May.

The home decor store is located in the historic Bennett house at 134 4th Avenue North. Owner Phil Baxter put a message on Facebook to his followers.

“It is with much sadness that Bagbey House and More will be relocating at the end of May. This is due to the increased rate of rent and the cost of doing business here in Downtown Franklin. Therefore we have decided at the end of May we will be closing down our location at 134 4th Ave N in Franklin, TN.”

Baxter continues, “We have not finalized a new location, however, we hope to make that announcement very soon. We hate having to make this decision as we truly love our customers & the Downtown Franklin area. We hope that you all will follow us on to our new journey as we plan to bring you bigger & better things! Nevertheless, we hope to continue seeing you in our current location & show us your support as you have always done. Thank you all for your love & support throughout the years & God Bless you all.”

The message prompted followers to leave comments of support, writing they would support Bagbey House and More when it moves to a new location.

Baxter spoke to us about the decision saying, “It is with great sadness that we will be leaving the downtown Franklin area at the end of May. Due to increased rent rates, and the inability to work out an agreement between the store and the landlord,” said Baxter.

In regards to a new location, Baxter didn’t reveal where that will be at this time.

“Nevertheless, we are excited that we will be relocating to another location. However, that location has not been finalized yet.”

Bagbey House and More will have a moving sale, the discount offered will be dependent on the individual vendor.

Recently, Arbor Antiques announced it would be closing at the end of March along with Antiques at The Factory.

  1. Hate seeing all these locally owned shops closing. They were what made this town such a unique place. How many tourist-seeking, come and go restaurants do we need?
