The Downtown Franklin Association (DFA) is helping add another enchanting moment to the community’s holiday season by inviting everyone to take part in its Second Annual “Merriest Main Street” Reveal on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015  at 3pm that includes an exclusive Studio Tenn performance at The Franklin Theatre and a grand Main Street window reveal.

Coordinators of the event say the program is meant to kick off the holiday magic in Franklin, as well as put guests in the spirit to get a jump on spending money with downtown’s independently owned merchants and restaurants this season.

“We think this is the perfect way to showcase downtown Franklin’s unique talent and place an emphasis on what the holiday season means to the DFA, too,” said Kristy Williams. “Last year this event was a sold-out success, and with Tony McAlister [of Nashville Shakespeare Festival] and Studio Tenn at the helm you can expect it to be even better!”

The free program, presented by Franklin Synergy Bank, will start at The Franklin Theatre at 3:30 p.m. on November 23 with Christmas characters in costume greeting guests–presenting the perfect photo opportunity for families. Inside the theatre, participants will enjoy an event coordinated by Tony McAlister, chairman of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, that includes entertainment by Studio Tenn, live Christmas music, special guests, and other holiday-themed agenda items. City of Franklin Mayor Ken Moore will also speak.

Following the excitement, the public will spill onto “America’s Favorite Main Street” as darkness falls to enjoy the decorated holiday storefronts and newly lit Public Square greenery. Many of the downtown Franklin businesses will also leave their doors open later for extended shopping
hours following the reveal.

The “Merriest Main Street”reveal takes place just days before Small Business Saturday, a national holiday on November 28 that celebrates independently owned businesses across the country.

“We hope to use this event as a way to celebrate small businesses and local storefronts, and are so fortunate that partners like Studio Tenn and Tony are invested enough in this community to help us do that,” Williams said.

The “Merriest Main Street” Reveal at The Franklin Theatre is free and open to the public. However, seats are limited and interested individuals and families must reserve their seat through Franklin Theatre.
