Don’t Miss Spring Hill Orchestra’s One Night Only Summer Concert

Spring Hill Orchestra

The Spring Hill Orchestra, led by conductor Rebecca Vendemo, will perform a special Summer Chamber Music concert one night only on Saturday, August 25.

The concert will take place at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 2640 Buckner Rd. in Thompson’s Station.

For this concert, the Spring Hill Orchestra welcomes three soloists. Joining the orchestra to perform Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major for Guitar, as well as a solo by Bach, is John Johns, internationally known classical guitarist and Professor Emeritus of Guitar at Blair School of Music in Nashville. Mr. Johns holds degrees from Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, where he was a scholarship student of Aaron Shearer, and George Peabody College. He has played concerts all over Europe and at Carnegie Hall.

Also performing solos with the orchestra are two talented young people who have both been Spring Hill Orchestra members for several years. Chloe Evans, age 17, will play the first movement of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, and Luke Guelcher, age 13, will play the third movement of Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 2. In addition, the orchestra will play Haydn’s Symphony No. 59, the “Fire.”

There are no tickets for this event, but donations are gratefully accepted at the door.
