Demolition of Dominos to be Celebrated with Free Pizza

On Wednesday, April 22, a backhoe will take the first chunk out of the old Domino’s building on Columbia Ave. during a special ceremony put on by battlefield preservationists to commemorate the acquisition and preservation of seven parcels of land.

The community is invited to attend the ceremony, which will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. The mayor of Franklin, Ken Moore, as well as Tennessee State Historian Caroll Van West will be in attendance at the demolition ceremony.

Domino’s will be making fresh pizza from their new Franklin location to donate to the event.

Reclamation of the Franklin Battlefield has been going on since 2005, and once complete Franklin will have 20 acres of preserved Civil War battlefield land known as the Carter Hill Battlefield Park.
