A. Marshall Family Foods’s latest concept, Deacon’s New South, opened in downtown Nashville at 401 Church Street with a soft opening on October 18. The ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held on November 1st from 3 p – 10 p.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p and the event will include a self-guided wine tasting, private lunch giveaway ($1,000 value), and a chance to win a personalized private wine locker.

Travis Sparks is the Executive Chef, and Jenn McCarthy is the General Manager of the modern Southern restaurant located at the corner of 4th Ave. and Church St. inside the historic Life and Casualty Tower.

We stopped by to take a tour of the latest project, a step into fine dining which is described as elevated casual. Deacon’s New South is located just one block away from Puckett’s Gro. on Church Street in the Business District downtown. This new location will offer diners another option for those looking for an after the Ryman or Bridgestone Arena event. We spoke to Chef Travis Sparks to learn more about his favorite menu item and inspiration for the menu.
