De-Stress and Scale Down at the Nolensville Rec

It’s open, and full programs and classes will be starting in March at the new Nolensville Recreation Complex. To start off the complex’s first full month of operation, some health and wellness programs will be offered on Thursdays, including Scale Down and Tai Chi.

Scale Down:
Thursdays, March 19 – April 9
6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Cost: FREE
Instructor: Marissa Sparschu, Health Educator
This program, intended for teens and adults, focuses on three key areas to a healthier lifestyle: behavior change, eating well and moving more. Topics will include My Pyramid, Portion Distortion, Goal Setting Label Reading, Eating Out, Physical Activity, Stress, and more.

Tai Chi:
Thursdays, March 5 – April 9

9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Cost: $60
Instructor: Susan Schmitter
This is an introductory class geared toward tapping into the body’s energy, reducing daily stress and feeling energized. Anyone at any age an in whatever physical shape may join this class with no worries. Tai Chi uses smooth, continuous, low impact movements that help improve balance, posture and strength. This class focuses on the 24 simplified movements from the Yang Style.
