Davis Design Makes Sports into Art

Local Small Business of the Week Header

Saturday is Small Business Saturday, honoring small businesses and entrepreneurs. We try to do something small, but the same, every week with our local small business profiles.

This week’s profile is of Davis Illustration and Design, a small art and design business located at 4089 Clovercroft Road in Franklin. Run by life-long football fan Danny Davis, he creates beautiful watercolor prints with sports themes.

Davis Illustration Design travels to craft shows all over the country, lmost recently appearing at Christmas Village in Nashville in mid-November. His products and original work will be on display and available at the Opryland Hotel Treasures for the Holidays through just before Christmas.

Davis, who can be reached at 615-830-1413 or email at [email protected], will take custom requests but specializes in SEC college-themed work. He has a catalogue of available work on his website, which is also a great resource if you are thinking of ordering a custom piece.

His style is nostalgic and sentimental and will bring a smile to the lips of sports fans and art critics alike.

He grew up playing backyard football with friends in Nashville. Being the creative kid of the neighborhood, he would paint the pro team logos on their helmets. These memories would eventually become the inspiration for his watercolor prints. After attending Harris School of Art hand working in advertising and graphic design for 20 years, Davis was presented with the opportunity to start his own business doing what he loves. Now he travels to craft shows all over the Southeast selling his artwork and meeting people from all walks of life. When he is not traveling, his lives in Franklin with his wife and daughter.
