St. Patrick's Day

Just three months after a successful New Year’s Eve event, Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall announced this week DCSO employee volunteers are preparing for the 13th annual Sober Ride St. Patrick’s Day. Since its inception, sheriff’s office employees have taken approximately 7,300 people home. The holiday when everyone is Irish, will no doubt bring many out to celebrate and Hall wants to ensure it’s a safe patrick's day

“Anyone who has had too much to drink should go to one of our two pick-up locations for a ride. No questions asked,” Hall said. “Making the decision to choose a sober ride, whether it’s our program, a cab, or a designated driver, is much better than ending up in our jail or worse – causing a crash resulting in someone’s death.”

Pick-up locations will include Second Avenue and Broadway as well as Demonbreun at the Roundabout. Last year, DCSO’s 50 volunteers gave up their time to make sure the streets of Nashville were safe; taking about 300 people home. The program operates from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. in Davidson County only and reservations are not accepted.
