Crockett Elementary Grants a Wish to Local WCS Student

It was a Friday afternoon, Hailey Reynolds and her family  took a ride in a  limousine  to Crockett Elementary.  Upon their arrival, the Reynolds family was greeted with  a cupcake party and Hailey received some very special gifts.

Yvonne Ayers, Crockett Elementary PTO President,  who coordinated the effort  says,”For the 2nd year in a row, our Crockett students raised money for Make-a-Wish of Middle Tennessee. We held a Fun Run in October and the kids got sponsors from family and friends. Every child participated in the run and they were able to raise $10,654!!! Crockett felt it was important to have the kids as involved as possible in granting a wish to another Williamson County School child.”

Hailey Reynolds, a fellow WCS student at Fairview Elementary, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her father told us that Haliey likes to be out and about,  as the second to oldest child with three siblings, we are always on the go for school activities and sporting events.

We  also learned three things about Hailey, her favorite color is blue, favorite Disney movie is Frozen, and she likes to be on the go. We should make that four things because Hailey  likes to give out hugs.

The Reynolds family was welcomed by the Crockett student body shouting the very special surprise that brought them there that day,”YOU’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!”

Ayers says, “It has been so rewarding for them to know that running those laps in October led to Hailey getting to spend her Spring Break in Disney World! We held an all-school assembly and the kids got to be the ones to announce to Hailey that her wish was being granted. We are so grateful to the kids for working so hard to get sponsors and to all those that sponsored them!”
