Crime is Down in Tennessee

For three years now the crime statistics in Tennessee have been on the decline according to a recent report released by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Franklin specifically has seen a decrease in burglaries, car break-ins and retail theft of 6.8 percent.

Chief David Rahinsky says, “In a time when population is up and the economy struggles to show signs of improvement, the fact that crime in Franklin is down is a real testament to this great city.” There were close to 200 less offences in this category compared to last year.

A heavy community engagement efforts using twitter and anonymous texting has helped with the crime reduction effort. Neighborhood and Business partnerships along with aggressive patrolling of marked and unmarked units have paid off, making Franklin the safe place to live and grow.
