One of CPA’s many traditions includes welcoming students and families from across the school back to campus at the Back-to-School Party after the first week of class. Academy families start the second week of school after celebrating a new year with local eats, inflatables, games, athletic events, and lots of school spirit.
Despite a forecast of rain and storms throughout the Nashville area, partygoers enjoyed sunshine and a cool breeze as festivities kicked off around 5 p.m. behind the high school building. Food trucks and tents lined the parking lot, providing delicious artisan foods like barbeque-cornbread nachos and lobster mac ‘n cheese. Younger students spent their time travelling to and from the many inflatable games and slides set up on the baseball field, while older students caught up with classmates after their first week in their new classes.
The varsity volleyball team enjoyed a 3-0 home-court win over LEAD Academy preceding the party, while the varsity girls soccer team prepared to host Evangelical Christian School in The DEN directly following the party at 7 p.m. The soccer game marked record attendance as 1,607 fans poured into the stands to cheer the Lions on to their 3-1 victory. All fall sports teams enjoyed a debut at the start of the game, presenting their seniors and the next home game for supporters to attend.
