Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) recently welcomed James K. Lee (Jim) as Director of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship.

This appointment concluded a nation-wide search conducted by several levels of Academy leadership including CPA Board of Trustees Chair Bruce Williams and CPC Senior Pastor Scott Sauls.

“I was introduced to Jim Lee by my friend and former NYC colleague, Leo Schuster,” commented Christ Presbyterian Church (CPC) Senior Pastor Scott Sauls.  “Jim comes to Christ Presbyterian Church and Academy with thirteen years experience as the spiritual director of a highly-regarded, nationally known preparatory school in Los Angeles. He is intelligent and witty, trustworthy and spirited, serious-minded and good-natured, professional and playful, a lover of students and a lover of God. I personally can’t wait to have Jim and his family in our community. He will be beloved by parents, students, church, and the Nashville community at large.”

After graduating with a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, Jim was ordained at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas. In addition to his extensive work at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California, Jim served as an associate pastor at Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles for nine years. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

In his role as CPA Director of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship, Jim’s responsibilities will be to guide, foster, and develop the spiritual climate while ensuring mission alignment and worldview integration. Jim’s commitment to strategic excellence in mission-driven education, his dedication to engaging and inspiring students and faculty in their spiritual development, and his passion for the Lord are a few of his many strengths that will compliment the missional foundation and future of the Academy.

“We are thrilled to have Jim joining our leadership at Christ Presbyterian Academy. Jim brings wisdom and insight with his experience at a flourishing Christian school, as well as a passion for seeing the Gospel come alive in students through their educational experience,” remarked CPA Headmaster Nathaniel H. Morrow.

“After thirteen amazing years at Oaks Christian School, my family and I are looking forward to joining the CPA community,” Jim commented. “The new position is an enormous and critical task, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join and work with the dedicated Academy staff.”
