Christ Presbyterian Academy linebacker Kane Patterson is one of the area’s better defensive players, but on Friday night, he helped on offense.
Patterson scored a couple of second-quarter touchdowns, helping the Lions to a 43-12 rout of Stratford.
Patterson had scoring runs of two and six yards during the period. By half, CPA led, 36-0.
Junior quarterback Ryan Elege also threw a pair of scoring strikes, one to Taylor Duncan and another to Bryce McCormick.
CPA (1-0) goes to Ensworth next week.
Christ Presbyterian Academy also beat Stratford, 10-7, in last season’s state playoffs.
