CPA Goes to Stratford After Loss

centennial high school
CPA Lions

school headerChrist Presbyterian Academy comes off a tough loss last week at Ensworth.

The loss was the Lions first in 49 regular season games, and the first of any kind since 2013.

On the bright side, the loss does not mean much of anything as far as Region 5-3A standings and the playoffs go.

CPA Moving Past Loss

CPA”s game at district-foe Stratford on Friday, however, will. With a win (4-2, 1-1) Stratford would move into a tie with the Lions for first place in the district, but would hold the tiebreaker.

But do not count on it. Coach Ingle Martin has not lost back-to-back games, ever, as CPA head coach.

And count on the Lions to be extremely fired up to wash the bad taste of last week away with a big statement game.

The Lions are averaging 32 points per game while giving up 21. Stratford averages 28 and gives up 17. However the Lions have faced a rather tougher slate so far.

Look for stand out games from CPAs big three on offense.

Quarterback Zack Weatherly has more than 800 yards passing, with 8 touchdowns and only 1 interception this year. He has run in 3 more touchdowns.

Price Perdue, his deep-threat, big-play receiver, is a human highlight reel. Perdue has 419 yards reciving and is averaging more than 22 yards per catch.

Chip Omer, the bruising tailback, has racked up more than 400 yards and 6 touchdwons on the ground for the lions so far this year.
