The CPA Lions will host the Spring Hill Raiders this Friday night at 7 p.m. in a District 12 matchup.

The Lions are undefeated this season (6-0) and ranked 2nd in Class 3A. They are favored to win against the Raiders, and if they play like they have been all season then they should not have much trouble coming away with the win this week.

They average 210 yards rushing per game and 153 yards passing per game, led by quarterback Zack Weatherly and running back Jay Hockaday. Weatherly has completed 62 percent of his passes this season for 799 yards and 10 touchdowns against just 3 interceptions. Hockaday, the sometimes passer, has added two touchdowns and 100 yards on 10 attempts. He has also rushed for 434 yards on 58 attempts, an average of 7.5 yards per carry, for 10 touchdowns.

Between them, they have accounted for 22 of the team’s 23 touchdowns this season, passing and rushing.

The team has scored 208 points and only allowed 74.  That is good for best point differential in District 12. They average per game this year 35 points and give up 12. In fact, during this 6 game win streak they are on this season, they have won every game by at least 17 points, except for week one against Brentwood.

In only that game were they really tested this season and they won 17-14. Since then they have not looked back, home or away, or neutral: they won last Thursday against Milan at Vanderbilt stadium 24-7.

Spring Hill, on the other hand, at 1-5, has not won since August and is winless in its two conference games.
