CPA Lions

school headerChrist Presbyterian Academy (CPA) is on a 36-game winning streak. That is more than two seasons without a loss.

Last week in its first 3A Region 5 game of the year, the Lions beat White House Heritage 38-28.

In fact, how is this for consistency in greatness? In three games this year CPA has scored 38, 35 and 38 points.

CPA Goes for Fourth Straight

Friday, Sept 11th Pearl-Cohn (1-2) comes to town.

“We expect a great game from one of the best programs in the state,” said Ingle Martin, CPA head coach. “Coach Brunetti has done a terrific job at Pearl Cohn and we expect them to be a team competing for the 4Achampionship.”

CPA is winning this year by having a ball-dominating offense. That offense is run by quarterback Zack Weatherly. Weatherly has gone 27-39 for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns this year passing, and he has also added 3 touchdowns running, averaging more than 10 yards a carry.

Chip Omer leads the Lions in running, and he is punishing opposing defenses. He has 272 yards on 37 carries and 3 touchdowns. That is good for 7.3 yards per carry.

Price Perdue is Weatherly’s favorite target. He has 12 catches for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns this year.

Look for a big game from all three at 7 p.m. on Friday.

“Our kids are getting better each day at practice and they are excited about their 4th game this Friday,” said Martin.
