Christ Presbyterian Academy’s hunt for first place in Region 5-3A is alive for another week.

With Thursday’s 46-19 win over Greenbrier, the Lions remain in second place in the region.

The victory was their second straight after suffering a 7-6 loss against league leader Stratford on Sept. 30.

CPA quarterback Ryan Eledge tossed four touchdowns and running back James Deaton rushed for 175 yards in Thursday’s win.

The Lions jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter with a 20-yard touchdown run by Sam West and a 36-yard field goal by JT Gilbert.

Eledge threw  a 17 -yard touchdown pass to Bryce McCormick and strikes of 16 and 19 yards to Noah Henderson for a 32-6 advantage in the second frame.

Eledge’s 1-yard touchdown pass to McNeil Stout and an 80-yard interception return by Noah Parker pushed the Lions ahead 46-6 in the third quarter.
