CPA fifth graders filled their future classrooms at the recent CPA Middle School Preview Night. Principal Rhonda Smith, Headmaster Nate Morrow, and enthusiastic middle school faculty members greeted parents and students as they arrived. The fifth graders quickly learned about middle school fun as they embarked on a scavenger hunt though the building discovering Lego robotics, science experiments, colorful subject-area displays, and more.

Parents heard from administration and were treated to a preview of the upcoming middle school musical Alice in Wonderland Jr. Students were surprised with Class of 2023 T-shirts and joined their parents wearing their gift.large_news831031_725215

Sixth graders Langston and Virginia, both new to CPA this year, offered some observations to the guests: “My words of advice for you are to get involved: play sports, get in a club, participate in plays and music. Learn and listen in chapel and Bible…”, encouraged Langston. “You will enjoy it!”

Virginia shared, “Sixth grade is an important time to grow with new responsibilities and relationships. The teachers treat you with respect and challenge you to take responsibility for your work. They also challenge you in your relationship with God, to go deeper with Him.”

Anni, a Student Leadership Team (SLT) member talked about sixth grade activities such as the annual Cake Bake, the College Week Tailgate, and Service Day. She also shared some of her favorite things about middle school such as, “Teachers who are involved with every single student. From cross country meets to ‘Jam the Gym’, our teachers invest in us throughout the year,” and “I also love the students …we are here for each other.”

The fifth graders left excited about their years ahead at CPA Middle School.
