Construction to Begin on 40 New Westhaven Homes

Westhaven still has plenty of room to grow. It’s first home closed in 2003, it now has more than 1,000 and over the next decade will continue to grow to have well over 2,000 homes.

Last week the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission passed final plans submitted by Southern Land Company for developments of 44 new single-family houses.

It is split into two lots.

16 units will go on 5.15 acres at the intersection of Jasper Avenue and Clifton Street.

The units in the 16-home development will range in size from 6,210 square feet to 17,454 square feet.

28 units will go on 5.54 acres at 1000 Cheltenham Avenue.

The 28 units will range in size from 2,969 square feet to 10,597 square feet.

The lots in these sections have not been assigned builders yet but one side of the street will be driveway load homesites and the other side will have alley access.

The first 16 homesites will come on line in the fall and the Cheltenham homesites will not be ready to build until 2018. The permits allow development in preparation for building to begin.
