Construction has begun on a new $400,000 community park in Westhaven. The Westhaven Foundation has spent the last three years planning the park. It will create waterfront access and activities while enhancing Paddle Dog’s operations and add new amenities for Westhaven residents.
Phase one will include a new floating dock, an overlook deck, a seawall and a gradual walkway down to water level. The new facilities will improve access to the water for people of all ages and physical capabilities.
Recently, a ceremony took place to kick off Phase One of the project. Foundation Park is made possible by The Westhaven Foundation, a nonprofit that was formed to serve the Westhaven community through financial support and volunteerism and to be a catalyst to help others in the community conduct programs of their own.
