Community Invited to “State of the Schools” Address by Dr. Looney

Williamson, Inc. invites members and guests to hear “The State of the Schools Address” by Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. This will be the first public address he has made since turning down a position with Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Dr. Looney will address local and regional business leaders at the monthly membership on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with an opportunity to network; the luncheon and program will begin at 11:30 a.m. The event is being held at the Embassy Suites Nashville South/Cool Springs, located at 820 Crescent Centre Drive, Franklin.

At the July meeting where Mayor Rogers Anderson gave his State of the County Address, he thanked Dr. Looney for all he has done for Williamson County Schools. Looney was given a standing ovation by the audience, this meeting took place a few days prior to his highly-anticipated decision last month.

When Dr. Looney renewed his commitment to Williamson County Schools, he stated that he wanted the focus to return to his students. In the past few weeks there has been much to celebrate with TCAP scores, exam scores and awards of excellence given out to several schools.

Attendees are invited to be among the first to hear what’s in store for the 2015-2016 school year, and how the district fared during the 2014-2015 school year. Classes resumed on August 7, 2015 for Williamson County Schools.
