Nolensville High is home to some impressive band directors. Both Michael Holland and Benjamin Easley were selected as Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation Music Teachers of Excellence. They were honored at an awards ceremony with the other recipients May 1.

The CMA Music Teachers of Excellence Award celebrates high-quality teachers and thanks them for going above and beyond in the classroom.

The ceremony was held at the Marathon Music Works and hosted by Dierks Bentley. A total of 30 teachers from around the nation were recognized.

“We are both humbled and honored to be selected for such a prestigious award,” said Easley.

Holland and Easley were each given $2,500 for their classrooms and a $2,500 gift.

“The CMA Foundation is doing incredible things to support music education and acknowledge music educators who are making a difference in the lives of their students,” said Holland. “It is exciting and encouraging to see the CMA Foundation acknowledge the importance of what we do by sharing public praise and providing financial support for us and our programs.”
